We were lucky enough to stay in two incredible hotels during our stay in the City – one was slightly more away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre with a more boutique, rustic charm. The other, more palatial in design and a real centrepiece of the Seville town, with incredible tiling and design details everywhere you turned. I was in #tileinspo heaven!
First up it was Hospes Hotel where I was immediately taken with the multiple orange trees outside the hotel entrance. The gorgeous combination of the mustard yellow and duck egg blue was everywhere in the hotel and created a hugely tranquil feel to the whole property.
Getting used to the feeling of sunshine for the first time in about 6 months (!), the girls and I made a beeline for the rooftop pool and bar. A little tranquil oasis perched on the top of the hotel with a small but perfectly formed pool and gorgeous seating areas with a real Ibiza-vibe.
This off the shoulder top from Zara turned out to be a somewhat perfect match to the hotel’s colour palette, and I paired it with some black jeans and my trusty three pouch bag from Celine. After an impromptu photoshoot in the courtyard with my work partner in crime Emily, we headed into the cobbled streets with the group for an incredible dinner at El Pinton (which I’ve covered in my previous Seville post).
The next morning we transferred to our second hotel, Hotel Alfonso XIII, an incredible palatial place next door to the Royal Alcazar Gardens, drawing on the moorish influences of the City in all aspects.
Every corner of this hotel is decorated to perfection – the tiles, the chandeliers, the floors, the courtyard – just gorgeous. I also wanted to steal every cushion I saw in the whole building and bring them back to my little London flat! Most of the bedrooms are situated around the main courtyard and so have a little balcony with a lovely view overlooking the whole hotel.
You can clearly see the moorish influences throughout the bedroom decor too – it took a lot to not steal this magazine stand! After scoffing a brownie in the bath, it was time to head down to the main restaurant for dinner. A delicious meal of steak followed, finishing off with some drinks with the work gang in the incredibly decadent ‘American Bar’ which with it’s deep blue, plush velvet, gold and giant chandeliers felt like a scene out of the Great Gatsby…
The hotel, for how incredibly palatial it is, is actually a bit of a bargain in comparison to London hotels and you can easily get a good priced room if you want to stretch your budget for a truly special stay – I couldn’t recommend it more. For more details on both hotels visit their websites here and here.
Until next time Sevilla!
