You can’t beat a classic Sunday roast – it’s pretty much one of my favourite things about being British! As we’re due a super cold snap this January, I thought it was the perfect time to share some images of one of my favourite choices to escape the cold and rain with a roast lunch, right here in Notting Hill (these images were taken end of December hence the Christmas decor!).
The Britannia Pub is one of my go-to pubs, nestled on a quiet road in W8 off the hustle and bustle of High Street Kensington. It’s got the friendly and relaxed feel you’ll want, full to the rafters with locals and the soft colour palette everywhere makes it perfect for a cosy glass of red. The layout of the main room, along with the incredible food, makes it a great choice for a birthday dinner or massive group lunch with friends and family.
We scoffed some melted rosemary and honey camembert to whet the appetite first. I mean, just look at that oozing deliciousness..!
Swiftly followed by the main event – this trio of options includes the roasted duck (succulent), pork belly (crispy and utterly delicious) and the roast beef (perfectly cooked in an incredible gravy), all washed down with a bottle of Rioja. Happy faces all round!
It’s really easy to book in online – which you can do here – so why not grab some friends and enjoy a gorgeous roast dinner this coming weekend. Let me know if you go! It’s also a lovely stroll back through Kensington up to Notting Hill Gate afterwards if you want to walk off all that food. About this time last month when we strolled back, we passed another favourite Notting Hill haunt – the Churchill Arms – dressed up in all her festive glory; a picture I just had to share.
