Little Feast, Shepherd’s Bush Yard

Little Feast, Shepherd’s Bush Yard

There’s a Little Feast that’s popped up in a little yard in Shepherd’s Bush. I popped along with a group of friends to try out the festive offering from the We Feast London team, where this small urban space has been transformed into a Scandinavian forest for the Christmas season…

Despite a mix-up with our booking on arrival and having to wait over an hour for an actual space at the table (staff were terribly apologetic to be fair and provided us with a free bottle of red, so happy faces all round), we settled underneath the covered canvas in ‘The Yard’ ready for some grub.

This festive fairy-lit pop-up ‘forest’ serves up a host of treats for any palette. If you’re a meat lover head to Sticky Beaks for delicious Moroccan Lamb, melt in the mouth beef cheeks (braised in festive cider) or try the Cheeky Burger Wagyu Beef Burger. For the sweet toothed among us you can grab a waffle with melted choc or cream from Butter & Scotch or try my personal favourite – Feed Me Primal with their cauliflower rice dishes topped with pulled chicken or steak, salad and sour cream; delicious.

You can grab drinks from The Cabin Bar which has a Norweigan-style feel to it and offers pretty well priced drinks. There’s an eight foot tall advent calendar on the wall where daily drink and food deals are revealed too – if you’re looking for a good pre-Christmas date venue by the way, this would be a real winner…

We didn’t see any live entertainment on the Saturday evening we went, but I was reliably informed by the owner that at various times throughout the week there is also acoustic live music with choral choirs, carol singing, brass and jazz bands; you check out their Twitter for updates.

When you end the night full of good grub, red wine and a drunken game of Saucy Crackers, you know that Christmas is very nearly round the corner. Head to Little Feast while it’s still very much open in the next week (it closes on 23rd December) where the nearest tube is Goldhawk Road. If you want a free winter warmer on arrival you can register to attend here. You can also just turn up and have a drink / a bite if you’re in the area but be warned you might have to queue.
