“It would be so nice if something made sense for a change” – Alice
Last week, I was pretty blown away by the production of Alice’s Adventures Underground. Three years in the making from company Les Enfants Terribles, this expansive production is hugely ambitious in scale – taking over 20 rooms underneath the labyrinthine Waterloo vaults, audiences are asked to ‘make their choice’ as they embark on an underground non-sensical adventure in Wonderland to become part of the story.
This beautifully curated production creates a fully formed world that blends storytelling, live music, puppetry, circus and spectacle – it really is a must-see for any fans of theatre, immersive entertainment or London cultural activities generally.
The beauty of the production is that you are surprised at each turn and so I’ll let a few select images from the evening do the talking on this one so as not to give anything away…but I can’t recommend it enough. Due to popular demand, the show has also just released tickets for July and August so trust me – don’t be late! – and book your tickets here now.
