I’ve just come back from a long weekend away in France with my fiancee, making some final preparations for our wedding in late summer. Whilst there, we stumbled across perhaps one of Provence’s best kept secrets – a stunning local restaurant called Le Bistrot Du Paradou.
Nestled away in the stunning sleepy town of Paradou, you simply get what you’re given here at this local haunt in the middle of town – one menu, 4 courses, 55 euros. They don’t have a Twitter or a website (as why would they need to when they’re full every night), you just have to call up, book your table and enjoy…
After being treated to a wonderfully friendly welcome by all of the waiters and enjoyed an aperitif, we were served our first course of Foie Gras ravioli – all washed down with the most delicious house red wine (already opened on the tables for you to drink when you sit down).
Following the deliciousness of the starter, we then delved into the Lamb and Ratatouille main (which I scoffed too quickly to take any pictures of) and were then presented with the ultimate in all cheeseboards. Ever. I mean just look at this thing…mon dieu!
Groaning with happy stomachs as we left, we vowed we’d come back again and again and tell everyone we knew about this little place. If you’re ever in the south of France, I couldn’t recommend a visit enough. Call them on +33 4 90 54 32 70 to reserve a table – bookings essential.
Bon appetit! LMNH x
