With my wedding happening next year and the whole business of ‘wedding planning’ completely new to my sister and I (who is my Maid of Honour), we decided to treat ourselves to a lovely brunch to chat through ideas and wade through our mound of BRIDES magazines.
There was only one place for it – Berners Tavern. This is one of my favourite spots in the world. D took me here last year for my birthday dinner and I have been hooked ever since. Not only is the food delicious and the service great, but the space is incredible. Walls that are entirely covered with pictures give a fantastic atmosphere to the place and you feel you could be sat in Paris or New York, rather than just off the bustle of Oxford Street.
I was yet to try the brunch menu and was already sold when one of these was placed infront of me – the Room with a View cocktail. Literally lethal as they taste so good and you can hardly taste the alcohol; so a real danger for the purse at £12 a pop!
After a couple of these, we ordered some avocado and poached eggs on toast and some macaroons and cheese following this, happily plotting ideas on our Pinterest boards and getting excited about a hen weekend away.
