Last week I stumbled across a fantastic local photographer called Charlotte Fielding.
Alongside fellow Notting Hillbilly and photographer, Phillipa Gedge, Charlotte is hosting an exhibition of their work entitled ESCAPE at The Tabernacle in June.
The exhibition consists of 60 stunning new works from the two breakthrough photographers. What I love about the idea of these images is that the verb ‘to escape’ usually conjurs up negative connotations – whether it’s fleeing, running away, avoiding the negative.
But these two photographers are very much challenging this preconception with their display of images, taking the viewer instead on a positive and uplifting journey. I personally love nothing more than to escape to a coffee shop with a book and my ipad for a couple of hours – escaping can be fantastic and allows for reflection. Each image that has been put in this exhibition has been chosen due to its representation or link to some form of escape – whether it’s escaping the rain or finding escapism in your own dreams.
This is just a preview for you to pop in your diary at the moment – make sure you try and head down between 17-23 June. I shall be blogging about the opening night too so you can have a further sneak peek in a few weeks time but for now here is one image to whet your appetites…

Will you be escaping anywhere fun this weekend?
