Golborne Road

“The overall mood is Alice in Wonderland meets Pirates of the Caribbean.” – Saska Graville, LONDON Style Guide

One cloudy Saturday, my boyfriend and I wandered down to the ‘unfashionable’ north end of Portabello Road. Little did we know we were going to stumble across one of the best roads in London – if you are a furniture, art or general knick-knack lover, Golborne Road will be your mecca.

Whether you are browsing the kerbside bric-a-brac stalls, eating fresh fish from one of the market chefs or hunting for interior treasures at the various antique shops, this little hidden gem in Notting Hill is a Little Miss Must-See. If you’re tired from all the snooping amongst the finds, stop off for a cup of herbal tea in mis-matched tea cups at Lowry and Baker:

Here’s a snapshot of some of the finds we stumbled across:

The eye for styling in the shops below is particularly amazing:

– Phoenix on Golborne

– Ollie and Bow

– Kokon to Zai

[TIP: Most of the shops are open at weekends only, so check before you visit. Nearest tube: Ladbroke Grove]

Do you have any hidden-gem roads in your area?
