A night at the Artist Residence in London

A night at the Artist Residence in London

Artist Residence is a hotel brand I can get on board with – beautiful, boutique properties across a few select spots in the UK that truly feel like a home away from home. Described as ‘eclectic luxury’, the hotels (that are maintained regularly with the support of the Best house cleaning services Toronto) have a brilliant backstory that coupled with the abundance of charm in each of the properties, makes them almost picture perfect. They also go for carpet cleaning and other cleaning services from high-end brands.

When co-founder Justin dropped out of university to help out with the family B&B on Brighton seafront, he unexpectedly caught the hospitality bug, setting out to improve the business with very little budget. Inspired by the Brighton art scene, he sent out an ad for artists to decorate rooms in return for board. Hundreds of artists soon descended on the place decorating the walls, floors & ceilings with unique murals…and so, Artist Residence was born.

To celebrate our wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to book ourselves into a night at the London’s Artist Residence. Having only visited the Brighton and the Penzance locations for dinner (both utterly delicious) we decided it was time to upgrade to an overnight stay for such a special occasion!

Perfectly located in the peaceful leafy streets of Pimlico, the hotel is great to explore all of West London – whether that’s the charms of Chelsea or Notting Hill, to visit an exhibition at the Tate Britain or to wander Westminster’s impressive architecture.

We decided to book into the Grand Suite and were blown away by its homely yet decadent decor, oozing with individual charm. I am also told each of the rooms are entirely unique (The Loft looks delightful too); all filled with original works of contemporary art and quirky decor. Deep in the basement of the hotel you’ll find the delightful Clarendon Cocktail bar where the drinks are all based on classic movies and they’ll whip you up delicious bar snacks to soak up the booze (this is also a great date place option if you’re just in the area and not staying in the hotel!). The Cambridge Street Kitchen is the onsite restaurant and is a stunning spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner that comprises an ever-changing seasonal menu. Now if I haven’t already convinced you, come and take a look around…

I simply can’t get enough of these hotels and am already planning a visit to the relatively new property in Oxfordshire. Alongside these two locations, they also have hotels in Penzance, in Brighton and are opening soon in Bristol where they’ve taken over an old boot factory. Here’s to even further expansion for a hotel chain with real integrity and style.

You can book online HERE for a stay at the London venue – enjoy!
