Pachamama London

Pachamama London

This past weekend, London saw the hottest day of the year on Sunday – a welcome arrival of some sunshine in the capital and the chance to crack out some of my summer wardrobe in the city! I slipped into this little floral wrap sundress (a ridiculous bargain at £13 from Primark!) with my new white Zara slingbacks and Dan and I headed into Marylebone to meet a group of friends at Pachamama for brunch.

Pachamama is a Peruvian-inspired bar & restaurant in Marylebone that is dedicated to making the most of extraordinary ingredients available in the UK. It’s actually deceptively large compared to its fairly discreet entrance on Thayer Street and despite us heading there to try out the new Weekend Brunch menu, I can imagine it’s a brilliant after-work drink spot to meet up with friends at ‘Papa’s Bar’ and grab some of their signature seabass ceviche (it would also be a perfect date place!).

We were a group of ten and after looking at the menu options for the Weekend Brunch, we decided to all plump from the waffle menu. For £19 you get a starter nibble of your choice, a waffle with a selection of toppings and then one side. We ordered in a few bottles of rose wine and we were all set!

The food was genuinely delicious – between the group we ordered one of each of the options on offer and special mention should go out to the Peruvian fried chicken and the crab and yuca churros. The waffles themselves are either made from quinoa or gluten free sweet potato and are topped with fresh fruits, seeds and ginger yoghurt, Peruvian fried chicken and aji syrup or smoked salmon and bacon and eggs, depending on what takes your fancy.

Mark’s expression (the birthday boy) shows what we all thought of the food…!

Afterwards we strolled around in the sunshine through Marylebone, stopping off in the Chiltern Firehouse for some more refreshing drinks, followed by a walk back through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens – a perfect Sunday. I love how when the sun is shining, London almost becomes a new city, so many places are readily explorable and just walking around finding new corners is the best way to spend a weekend.

London, hopefully we’ll be seeing many more sunny Sundays from you this summer!
