Sunny Sunday in Chelsea

I really don’t think there is anything I love more than a weekend day ahead of me, with crisp, sunny weather to top it all off – there’s a real feeling of possibility and excitement ahead of how you can spend your day.

This Sunday, the boy and I pottered down to the Kings Road to meet some friends for a long lazy breakfast at the Bluebird Cafe. We whiled away the morning catching up on gossip and holiday plans and drinking too much tea and flat whites. Full and satisfied, we then decided to walk home to make the most of the beautiful November sunshine and meandered back through the roads of Chelsea and Kensington to our flat before watching another episode of Breaking Bad (on to Season 4 and completely addicted!).

It made me realise how much fun walking in London is – sometimes you get so bogged down with just wanted to get from A-B you forget to stop and look around, but getting on foot allows you to notice the things you usually wouldn’t. We walked down the Kings Road and cut up through the white perfect rows of houses and chic boutiques on Sydney Street and stopped in at the Chelsea Farmer’s Market cafe for a hot cider (where they handily leave out rugs for you to keep warm in. Perfect).

We then carried on and ended up taking an hour walk around Hyde Park past the Serpentine back to Notting Hill Gate. Coming past South Kensington tube station, you can also stop off for a cheeky slice of cake and a take-away hot drink from one of my favourite haunts Muriel’s Kitchen. This is a lovely walk if you fancy getting out and seeing some of London’s prettiest streets – let’s hope we see some more of this gorgeous sunshine throughout the rest of November!

The perfect Sunday! I’ve never really spent much time in noting hill but I’m going there tomorrow for brunch and a wander round the museum of advertising and packaging 🙂 xx
