Brunching at Pizza East

Brunching at Pizza East

As some of my lovely regular readers may already know, I love a good brunch. This weekend I tried out Pizza East‘s best brunch effort – one of my favourites for pizza in London, could they excel too with their mid-morning offering?

Yes is the simple answer! Not too busy at around midday, the boyf and I found a table nestled into the window overlooking the characters and market sellers of the Portobello/Golborne Road junction. Ordering a freshly squeezed orange juice and a flat white, I delved into the selection of free Saturday newspapers (a massive plus in my books!).

The boy was feeling healthy and so plumped for the yoghurt with muesli and honey offering – delicious. And ever since visiting Australia a couple of years ago, I’ve been an addict for avocado on toast. Seeing their avocado with chilli and lemon juice on the menu, I was over the moon. The perfect weekend morning pick-me-up!

I mean…just look at it 😀

So yes, Pizza East Portobello is a definite brunch must if you’re up this way of town. But there is a lot of competition now, with Bluebelles just round the corner (see my review here) and Lowry and Baker also. Golborne Road is fast becoming the brunch hotspot of London in my humble opinion…Check out Pizza East at 310 Portobello Road (keep walking allllllll the way up Portobello if you’re coming up from the start of Notting Hill Gate – about a 30 minute walk).

Let me know of any other great brunch spots you’ve found!

I’m a Bluebelle’s regular too, but I never fancied going to this place, even though it always seemed quite busy on the weekend mornings, because, well…. pizza? For weekend brunch? But I didn’t realise they had a wider selection than that… might give it a try next time I’m here.

That’s what I thought too Duncan but definitely recommend it for their brunch menu now 🙂 the poached eggs are also fantastic by all accounts. Are there any other brunch places you go to in notting hill I should try?

I like the coffee at Talkhouse, just down the road from here.

I LOVE avocado too!!! This looks like a great spot to go to especially during the week where it would be much quieter as opposed to busy busy brunches at the w/e
